Oreo Cream Cheese Tart

Happy Valentines Day! Here is your dose of inspiration. My first time making this and it is a winner. This easy to make tart will win you all the hearts you desire. From creamy, silky whipped cream to the chocolate cookie crunch in the filling, this dessert will please your palate.

Sweet Endings, Dessert, Oreo Cookies, Cream Cheese
Serves 6 – 8

INGREDIENTS

Crust
30 Oreo Sandwich Cookies
6T Butter, Melted

Filling
2C Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
2 Eggs
2t Vanilla
¼C Sugar
17 Oreo Cookies, Broken up into chunks

Ganache
¾C Chocolate Chips, semisweet
5T Butter
¼C Heavy Cream
1t Vanilla
1t Powdered Sugar

Whipped Cream

2C       Heavy Whipping Cream
5T        Powdered Sugar
2t         Grand Marnier
1t         Vanilla
½C       Toasted Walnuts or Berries for garnish
2C Grand Marnier Whipped Cream, See Recipe

Garnish
Candied Orange Peel, Mint, Edible Flowers for garnish ( Optional)

KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

10” Spring Pan, Greased
Electric Stand Mixer with Wire Whisk Attachment

DIRECTIONS

Crust
Place cookies in a food processor and pulse into small crumbs
Add melted butter and mix well
Transfer cookie mixture onto greased spring pan, pressing it down and on to the sides evenly,
Refrigerate for few hours

Filling
Preheat oven to 325˚F In bowl of stand mixer, beat soft cream cheese until fluffy
Continue beating while adding one egg at a time, vanilla, sugar, scraping down the sides
Fold in the cookie chunks
Pour cream cheese mixture into the tart pan and bake for 35-45 minutes or until tart is set
Center should be semi firm
Remove from oven and allow to cool

Ganache
Heat cream and butter in a sauce pan over medium heat until mixture start simmering
Add chocolate chips in a mixing bowl
Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth
Add powdered sugar and vanilla, stir until mixed well
Gently, pour ganache over the cream cheese mixture, spreading to cover evenly
Refrigerate until ready to serve, preferably several hours or overnight

Whipped Cream
In your mixer, add cream, sugar, Grand Marnier, vanilla
Mix on medium to high until stiff peaks form
Do not overbeat

Plating & Garnish
Spread whipped cream over the ganache
Garnish with candied orange peel, fresh mint sprig and edible flowers
Serve immediately
